FN#3:The Orphanage =) =)...Halloween Events 2013 Info...

This is a movie in spanish, but it also has english subtitles. Like i've mentioned before I LOVE ghost stories, but its really hard to find a good movie about hauntings, but this movie definitely did not disappoint me. Even though, I wouldn't say it's scary to me, but its definitely creepy because of the orphanage, the little kids, the animal masks and a costume that a little boy wears. Oh geez! yes, definitely a creepy movie and I watched it alone which made me even more nervous.

HALLOWEEN EVENTS 2013

OLD TOWN HAUNT-
This haunt has really good reviews on yelp. Its located in Pasadena and if you plan to go, you should visit their website and read the history. I read it and I can't believe how many people lost their lives in that property and underground and all around. I also read about the event on yelp and some of the people mentioned that you have to crawl in the darkness and do who knows what and weeelll...that's how I know I am getting older because I don't think my heart can resist the costumes or the crawling around in dark tight spaces, but for the the young ones (check age limit on website) and the young at heart that can resist all that i'd say good for you and have fun. Then, tell me all about it because I want to know, but I don't want to go!

BIG WORM'S SHERWOOD SCARE-
I'm soooo glad I found out about this one because the creators seem like really good hearted people because most likely they spend alot of money setting up the haunt, yet they only ask for a $3 donation (I think cash only). I'm not sure if you can give more than $3 if you choose to, but you can probably find a link on their website where you can make donations. All the proceeds go to Big Worm's Cystic Fibrosis Foundation so these people are awesome!

8856 Encino Ave.
Northridge, CA 91325 (entrance on Rayen St.)
Please check out their website for more information.

ROTTEN APPLE 907-
Speaking of awesome people, these people also work hard on their haunt and they charge nothing, but they do accept donations and 100% is donated to charity. On their website, you can read about their current and past charities so please visit this place and donate what you can and also visit their site for more information on the event. www.rottenapple907.com

Haunted Wilsley Manor II
907 N. California St.
Burbank, CA 91505

BONEY ISLAND-
I read online that this is a free creative yard display by the producers from "The Simpsons", but don't take my word for it because this is just what I read and I don't know for sure, but I am sure that you can find more information about it if you're interested. It looks like alot of fun.

4602 Morse Ave.
Sherman Oaks, CA 91423

I've never visited any of these, but definitely looking forward to it!

Things that go bump in the day...Fright Night #1: MAMA =) =)...

About a week ago, I began to hear the walls make little cracking noises, but it was windy outside so I knew it was just the wind. Then, a couple days ago, it was very different...different noises and a bit louder too, but so glad I would only hear them during the day.

Yesterday, I was standing by the sink with my back towards the hallway and when I turned a little to the side, I noticed from the corner of my eye that there was a dark figure standing behind me, in the hallway. I turned around to look right at it and it looked like the shape of a tall, slender man. He was just standing there, but I could tell he wasn't looking in my direction. He was staring at the bedroom door and I could clearly see the shape of the nose and lips and before I knew it, I saw the figure go into a grayish tone and then it was gone. I was like...Um...ooookay, what the heck was that?!?! Then, I forgot about it for a while, but really late that night I was watching videos on youtube and I saw the picture of a shadow man on a girl's video and THAT was when I got the creeps! But then I thought....yeeeey!!! Its HALLOWEEN TIME!!! and that means time to have "Fright Night" every night until Halloween! So tonight, I watched:
A bittersweet movie. The little girls do such a great job and some parts are cute, funny, sad and others just plain freaking creepy! Definitely, makes me jump a few times and hopefully it makes you jump too! Love this movie so I give it two happy faces...=) =)

Alien Cake Pops...

Many people have made Alien cake pops and they look so cute! So last year I finally decided to try and make some myself, but the shape was a bit tricky so I wasn't sure if I could make them...

Here they are...

Then, a month later for an Alien party, I made chocolate covered marshmallows on a stick. Theyre supposed to look like cute little happy aliens in their spaceship...

The cake was supposed to wish the earthling a happy birthday and atleast it got that point across because the checkered cake part didn't exactly go as planned since the colors mixed and doesn't quite look checkered, but it tasted good with just a slight taste of mint in the buttercream for a mint&chocolate cake! yummy!

Recipe#1 - Garbanzos? Tuna?

Hellooooo!

Ok, so I believe that when you cook or bake, it's really important to feel good and put all that good energy into what you're making...and I'm feeling alot better...I once again feel the good energy so I will start trying out new recipes when I can.

The first recipe is something they call mock tuna or something like that I saw online. It looks like tuna salad but its made with garbanzos instead. I really like this recipe because you can pretty much add what you want and as much as you want, depending on your taste.

-15oz can of garbanzos
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tsp of finely chopped onion (optional & to taste)
- Celery, chopped (optional & to taste)
- 1/2 Carrot, grated (optional & to taste)
- Corn, from a can (optional & to taste)
- Peas, from a can (optional & to taste)
- Salt & Pepper (optional & to taste)

1. Rinse the garbanzos (chickpeas) well & remove the weird little skin thingies on them by rubbing them with your hands while washing in a colander. (I had never made anything with garbanzos so I didn't even know they had that skin on them!)

2. In a bowl, smash the garbanzos with a potato masher or a fork to whatever texture you prefer.

3. Add the vegetables to the bowl and mix a little, then add the mayo and mix well until all the ingredients are well combined.

4. Season with salt and pepper. Mix well.

5. Enjoy with crackers or tostadas.

I can't have any hot sauce, but I bet it would taste so good if you added tapatio to it or maybe even a bit of jalapeno juice.

I think next time, I will just use a small can of mixed vegetables and again I will serve them with Ritz crackers. So yummy!  Enjoy.

Stay Strong & Don't Believe Bullies...

I believe in staying true to myself no matter how much evil or how many bullies I encounter. I don't believe in the saying: If you can't beat them, join them. I refuse to be like them because I like to help people, not put people down. To me, it's really important to stay kind, honest, respectful and believe in yourself no matter who tries to humiliate you and make you feel bad about yourself. I also believe in sticking up for yourself no matter who's trying to bully you, but I also know when to quit to avoid so much negativity cloud and take over my days...I felt my light was getting dimmer and dimmer having to deal with so many mean, fake and abusive people every week and it just isn't worth it. I felt as if I was stuck in a tiny little box that was sealed from the outside and I couldn't open it from the inside! I started having anxiety attacks, reeeeally bad insomnia and a day before "the day", I ended up in the Emergency Room with chest pains and shortness of breath. It felt like no matter how hard I worked or what I tried to do, it was never going to be enough for them because they would look for any little thing to try to get me in trouble and make it hell for me and ironically, in a place that should be a fun place to work at. I used to really, really, really loooove the store so thats the part that makes me the saddest.

Anyway, so I need my job really bad, but my health is way more important and I shouldn't keep putting it in the back burner. Once, one of the bullies told me that I'm weak, but it actually takes alot of courage to stand up to bullies and it also takes alot to get out of the situation especially if you need the job. Many employees are experiencing the same thing and they were there when I left so I'm hoping they soon realize they are better than that and do not deserve to be humiliated like that, even if they need the money.

That same night that I quit, I felt that I could once again take in deep breaths and it felt like CLEAN, fresh air. I also felt my creativity come back! These past months, I couldn't even get inspired, it felt like there was some sort of mental block and I also didn't have the energy to make any crafts because I didn't feel like doing anything. The recent crafts I made were work related, I was told to do them so I had to, but I was no longer enjoying it. I craft for fun and I definitely wasn't crafting for fun anymore. Especially because who I was crafting for!

Now, I feel a big sense of relief and I'm really looking forward to the next chapter in my life.
